Scientific Director to present at FIDHC

Middle East event brings together industry experts and key speakers who are specialists in Gut health
Omega (AIM: ODX), the specialist medical diagnostics company focused on promoting a personalised and functional approach to health and nutrition, announces that Dr. Nigel Abraham, Scientific Director at Omega Diagnostics, will be presenting at the International Symposium on Food Intolerance and Digestive Health (FIDHC) in Dubai, taking place on Monday 17 October 2022.
Dr. Nigel Abraham, PhD, FIBMS, FRSM, is a specialist in the development, implementation, automation and validation of innovative diagnostic assays and their applications, specialising in the fields of Immunology and allergy. The presentation is entitled: “The Role of Food Sensitivity in Chronic Inflammatory Conditions”.
FIDHC, organised by Omega’s partners in the Middle East, Babirus, is an annual symposium which brings together key speakers who are experts in Gut health. The event offers a platform to educate healthcare professionals in the region about the scientific basis and clinical utility for the use of food IgG antibody testing (food sensitivity) in clinical practice.
The symposium attracts more than 500 medical professionals across a number of specialties, including gastroenterologists, dermatologists, pediatricians, GP’s, Nutritionists, Dieticians, as well as Pathology. Delegates attending come from government health ministries, public and private hospitals, as well as primary care clinics and include many health professionals who trust Omega’s food sensitivity tests and use them in their clinical practice.

About Dr. Nigel Abraham, PhD, FIBMS, FRSM
Nigel is Scientific Director at Omega Diagnostics Ltd., UK, and a specialist in the development, implementation, automation and validation of innovative diagnostic assays and their applications.
Specialising in the fields of Immunology and allergy, Nigel was trained originally in pathology at St. Georges Medical School and went on to study Immunology at the University of Surrey. A specialist in allergy and hormones he has been involved in extensive research in the field of chemical mediators of allergic disease and salivary hormone diagnostics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science and a chartered scientist, formerly the Scientific Director of Genova Diagnostics (Europe), and leading a specialist laboratory team performing a comprehensive range of tests in functional and nutritional medicine. He is also a keen participant in both student and practitioner education lecturing at many of the major education centre’s as well as regularly holding seminars and presentations as part of the continuing professional development for practitioners. Nigel has been involved in many research projects and have published a number of scientific papers.
